the magic system in ff8 sucked so bad.

ff7 was easily the best game in the series and was ranked the number 7 video game of all time in 2000 after 2 of the zelda series and a few other equally good games

ff8 was not listed

FFVIII started the Fire, Fira, Firaga...etc. Which was still continued in FFIX

I wouldn't bash it too much, the drawing was not that bad of an idea. Your character getting X amout of whatever spell it maybe.

I think the math factor was too much for simple folk...but its way better then materia (which gets removed like 4 times in ff7) so you gotta spend 2 hours reorginizing it! Damn you Yuffie!!!

Just put in for an aggrivating challenge.

Wasn't too bad. I didn't like FFII's spells where the level and damage is based off the level.

I liked 10's system the best. 12 should have kept it the same and not tweaked it.

So many negatives on ff8. yet if you know what ff8 is all about that means you played the game to the end. I would guess it wasn't so bad after all.
I'll tell you. I played 1/2 hr on ff7 and gave up. I never went any further (like 4 years ago) cause I didn't like it. I cannot say it sucks cause I have no idea what ff7 is. But if you played ff8 to the end and say it sucks......why would you say that? You finished the game therefore I doubt it sucked. Unless you did like me quit after the SeeD test at Dollet.
I'm not saying ff7 sucked because I didn't play it through. So if you quit ff8 midway or whatever don't comment saying it sucked. You have no idea what you're talking about since you don't even know who Omega and Ultima Weapons are. I can't comment on ff7 cause I got 1/2 hr in it and quit.
You can say ff8 you found it boring as hell like me in ff7 thats why I quit the game. But if u say it sucked let alone finish the game, your contradicting yourself.
Normal ppl don't continue to do something if they don't like it.
And since this is a FF8 thread on being the best game.........I think so too. I'm playing ff XII right now. Had it since friday and love it. I like the gambits and liscence part and still trying to figure out stuff.
I doubt any FF games really sucks. They are all good. Still think ff8 is better.
EDIT: Just re-read this and I didn't quit after SeeD Test. I finished the game. I quit ff7 is what i meant. I was a bit discouraged to find out how easy Ultimecia was to bring down compared to Omega. My party was Zell, Rinal and Squall but she picked Squall, Rinao and Quistis. She died after round 3 which I never healed quistis because I told myself it was a waste of items to do so, she has no junction. But after she died and realizing how easy, I could've kept Quistis alive I think. When she died Zell came in. Didn't use any Holy War or hero's. just Aura and limit breaks. And casted beserk on Zell to I didn't have to control him.
