^ I don't think time consuming means a fight is hard if it's still not a challenge. I just think it's whatever fight you had the hardest time actually winning, what was a struggle, etc.

yes and no imo. A time consuming preparation is necessary for the the hardest bosses, if you aren't fully prepared to take on certain bosses, it will be impossible. A time consuming battle however, has nothing to do with dificulty, like Omega in FFVIII for example, it's just a matter of patience and healing and he will eentually die.

Used to be Absolute Virtue from FFXI :p

AV was one of the greatest challenges in all of the final fantasy games until they decided to give everyone a break :(

They shouldnt have given the break <_< . Games need the truly challenging fights that you need to revisit a few times and take quite a bit of grueling/grinding/building up to the moment where you get the chance at the fight.
Beating AV used to be a true accomplishment... oh well :p

something that made you struggle, in any way ... for me i cannot say what was hardest, too long time i last time played anything else than 10 ... probably hardest would be dark bahamut or smthing

Didn't some dudes have to go to the hospital attempting this boss? I've never played any of the Final Fantasy MMO's, but I believe a while back I had heard something to that extent.

lmao I would love to hear that story! haha :lol:
I duno about all that but back when the boss wasnt nerfed and the lvl cap wasnt 90, AV was a real big deal. It was just cool that when people were fighting him it was being talked about in the /shout command (public chat in the game), on forums and people took their characters to the fight location to watch all at the same time.
It was pretty cool imo

Nah I think what happened was it literally took some group a whole day to beat the boss and they were complaining that it was just too unfair.

Hardest Boss ever, and i played almost all final fantasys


Ruby's immune to damage unless two of your party members get blown away/killed (Most kill them off beforehand), afterwards he'll put down his claw/tentacle things and it'll be open for Omnislash

Wiegraf from FF Tactics PSX takes the cake, having to 1v1 a holy knight with a mid-game Ramza is ridiculous, and fighting a Zodiac Demon right after? Come on.
