This was a very sloppily written / jumbled up paragraph, but I'll try to make a decent response.

You say you can't stand voice acting in modern RPGs, and I can't stand graphics and horrible sound in earlier ones. It's truly the same thing,
No, it truly isn't the same thing. The graphics and sound were a requirement back then, they couldn't go out of their means no matter how bad they wanted to. Quality for both peaked at a certain level. However, something like adding an option to turn voice acting off would not be anywhere outside the means of the developers.

honestly I just hate having bad graphics, I happen to have a great graphics card in my computer just because I like it so much better. I don't see why you have to flame me just because I don't like something that you like, or do like something you don't. I was just trying to say that in my point of view I really hate bad graphics, and bad sounds just make it worse, at least in my opinion i think that they're bad sounds. I will go back to some NES games every once in a while too. Such as Super mario brothers 3, probly my fav one. And I also still own my N64, some of those games are great like mario kart and super smash bros (which honestly have better graphics than some PS1 games I've seen, in my opinion, again). Maybe you shouldn't just say things that you like, and try to step in others' shoes a little. I can understand not liking something and liking another. I really hated the graphics of FF7, when the PS1 came out. I never bought one, as I was still breaking my controllers on my Nintendo 64 playing super smash bros with friends and family, or playing harvest moon or something. The first time I saw Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 (the first game I saw on the PS2), I thought it was pretty cool, and the things you could do were neat, so I bought one. I never had played any PS1 game, or seen many through the PS1's fame.
Okay.. so you're trying to make yourself sound like a victim. A lot of this doesn't really make sense, either. You say you want me to step into your shoes, and judge games that are over 10 years old based on graphical(and sound) quality that was cutting edge at the time. That makes no sense. There is more to a game than good graphics. And congrats on having a top notch graphics card! :thumbs up:

And this topic started with asking what the best final fantasy game for the PC was. Right now. Not 13 years ago. So why should we need to suggest games that were good 13 years ago, when we can suggest games now? The reason I'm comparing to superior hardware now, is because I can, he's not asking what the best game was 13 years ago.
That's a nice theory, but only 3 games have been released for the PC. 7, 8, and 11(MMORPG). So, you actually can't make ANY comparison because those are both(7 and 8) ported from the PS1.

He's asking what's the best final Fantasy game on the market now. So should I really say "Oh, well Final Fantasy 1 is the best game for sure" when I can say "Oh well you should get the new one that just came out, if you're into MMORPGs, or you could try using a different system to play one of the fairly new ones."
He's not asking for the best game on the market, he's asking for the best on PC, and people are giving opinions on those. You can't go into someone's suggestion thread and tell them to buy a new console.

I would personally prefer to play FF13 than FF7, I'm into MMORPGs, I think it would be fun, and the graphics look great. However I'm assuming he's looking for a game to play by himself, that has decent graphics, sound, story and gameplay. That means no MMORPGs since they're multiplayer, and not one of the ones made "13 years ago), as those have bad graphics and not so great sounds. So I would just suggest to go out and get a PS2 or PS3 and get one of the fairly new ones like 10, 11, or 12 because it would be much more worth your money.
First off, a lot of this makes no sense. But again, he's asking for opinions on the PC ones, don't tell him to buy a new console. And, it's not up to you to decide how much more worth the money it is. He could spend like 20 bucks on one of the ones he's asking about, or go spend like 300+ just so he can play a new one.. pretty skewed to me since he's already made it clear what he wants in the topic.

I never said graphics were everything, but to me they are a lot, if I can get some decent graphics and great gameplay, im happy, but In my honest opinion, FF7 had very sub-par graphics, even worse than the time, if they were even similar to something like the N64 (thats about 20 years ago, and it's still better in my opinion) at least it would be only a little sub-par, it would have decent enough graphics for me to play on and be very happy, and you can make 3D with the N64.
worse than the time? Are you serious? Most of that games fame came because of how revolutionary the graphics were. There had never been a 3d experience like it before. Also, the Nintendo 64 was released a couple years later than the PS1 and was more advanced in hardware(64 bit rather than 32 bit), so that comparison is dumb too. And yeah, that 20 year reference and basically the last real sentence of that run-on make no sense.

I wouldn't suggest FF7 if you're looking for decent graphics or sound, but if you don't care if it has bad graphics or sound, and it has a good gameplay or story line, hell FF7 probably would be the best in that case. That's what I meant saying my things. Maybe you should try looking in a different perspective once in a while.
You never made that clear before. Before your stance was "you shouldn't get FF7 because newer games have better graphics and are therefore better". Which, I think is still your stance. I still think you have a pretty absurd view anyways.
