Well, they claimed it's an easy port however I do know that if they were originally planning for it to be a PS3 exclusive, it's going to be large like 6 or 7 DVD large... and it was going to be graphically intense (beyond what a 360 is capable of)

IF it was originally conceived for the PS3 it's graphics would be a higher caliber than what the 360 can run.

Are you illiterate?

Meh. Japan sells more Final fantasy there, than here, I believe. Most people with 360's arent into final fantasy style games, from my experience anyway.
It does make it less appealing to own a Ps3 though, not that i own either

It's good for me since I own a 360. It's so funny how all these PS3 fanboys are crying, though. Who cares if FFXIII is being ported to the 360? They can still play the game. They are not being affected in any way. If anything, it's a good thing since more money for Square means more money to invest in future FF games. Would I give a shit if Halo 3 went to the PS3? No. Did I care when Oblivion, GTA IV, etc were announced for the PS3 too? No.

Actually, PS3 owners shouldn't have a right to cry anyway. FF was originally on Nintendo consoles, so in a way, it should "belong" to Nintendo console owners. That's the whole point that the PS3 owners are making. Not that I care. As long as I can play the game, it doesn't matter to me.

Let's just start off by saying, it actually can affect the way it is made because a DVD holds less than a BR.

They have already stated that it won't affect the way the game is made.  They are making the PS3 version normally and THEN making the 360 version at a later date.  That way, the PS3 version release date won't be affected and the graphics won't be affected either (since they have claimed that they will be able to optimise the compression a great deal and if that doesn't work, they can decrease the graphics of the 360 version and/or release it over several disks).  The PS3 version will be fine.

Secondly, are you dumb?  GTA was a PS exclusive (when it was put on PS2) so how the hell can you even care about that?

It was just an example.  I think someone needs to calm down.  Oh wait.  FF was originally a Nintendo exclusive.  How the hell can you even care about that?

Thirdly, the point we are MAKING is that if they port it to the 360 they aren't fully utilizing BR technology nor the PS3 technology, unless they make the PS3 version and down it for the 360.

What you have stated is exactly what they are doing.  They are making the PS3 version first, the way they would make it if it was PS3-only, THEN they are making the 360 version, therefore the PS3 version of the game is not going to be affected.  The only version that will be affected will be the 360 version, but since the development of the PS3 version and 360 versions aren't overlapped, there will be no effect on the PS3 version.

I know they are making a Japanese edition for the PS3 but they said they are going to remake it in English for EU/US for both PS3 and 360 which leads me to believe it might have graphical modifications to trim down the size of it.

Yeah, there's still a possibility that they will have to decrease the quality of the graphics as nothing has been decided yet, but they claim that they will optimise the graphics and as a result, won't need to tone them down:

The next question was regarding the technical limitations of DVD media as opposed to Blu-ray and how that would affect the visuals of the Xbox 360 version. The response was that while nothing has been decided yet, the plan is to optimize compression for the disc-space hogs, which are prerendered cutscenes and voice work, so the quality would not be adversely affected.

Only the 360 version was mentioned there, so that leads me to believe that it will be the only version to be affected.

Aslong as we have no game demos (like actual gameplay) side by side, I will believe that unless they miracle work or do what you are suggesting, both versions will see the same graphics
