First off, Landmine I think you may have an anger problem. Read the other posts, this is a friendly debate.
Two, graphics are only 1% of what I look at, I just used that for added comedy. I never said his storyline, or the game's storyline for that matter, was original I just said I liked it, it's interesting. And what's with the gay shit? You're really hell bent on proving that anyone who likes Sephiroth is secretly haboring gay feelings towards him, aren't ya? Hate to break it to you, but just because you think he "resembles a girl" doesn't mean the rest of us do. You're mainly saying he is a bad villain because of his looks, doesn't hold up against anything else about him. He started out strong, so what. His transformation from good to evil was, I must say, a little lame but who cares. Everytime you see him in the game until you get to the Crater wasn't even really him, genius. He may be a Captain America ripoff and I'm not saying "he's sooo dreamy, he's like the best villain ever", he's just, in my opinion, the best FF villain. And I just realized that they always refered to him as a guy in a black cloak, not leather.
I meant graphics in terms of the "has a face" remark

The clones thing wasn't genius, it was lame. And i'm not arguing the fanboy aspect against you, but instead against the general perception of him. Most of the fans i've seen like him because he's 'cool looking'. The effeminate remarks are simple, he is very girly looking with his hair and face, so I am questioning why fanboys consider that to be cool. Bad guys should have scars, be hideous or whatnot. It's part of the whole role. The role is of a bad guy is as an outcast. Outcasts are not pretty, or debonaire. There is a different form of antagonist, in which the bad guy is charming and good looking and yet evil, but these characters are evil in a different way, through politics and such; it is a part of the deception. There is no deception with Sephiroth, and I just find him to be a very shallow character. I think Square could have done better. He's very commercial, everyone wishes they were cool, everyone feels like a loner, everyone wishes they could carry an unfathomably long sword around.. It's all just.. kind of silly.
What i'm saying is.. within the context of FF7, Sephiroth is a fine character. He suits it in a lot of ways; however, FF7 has a LOT of flaws, so him fitting into it doesn't automatically make him a great villian overall. In comparison to bad guys from other series, or even from other final fantasy games, he's a shallow, cliche character that has a number of lame / iffy moments. He got a lot more exposure than others have, and perhaps that has made him more popular, but popular doesn't equate to good. People just like him because of how he looks and how they feel they relate. I think he is shallow, and I think Kefka is a better overall, Golbez too (writing wise. put looks aside 100% and compare them; each of their looks suit their games, and therefore should be irrelevent beyond that).
