I'm 15 now, couple questions.
Can you not get disc. of the hand/crafting weps and such until ur 15?
What are the colored dots on equipment in the top right and what do they mean?

for the color dots i am not 100% sure but i think its just there to tell you the color of the equipment

Not sure what you mean by your first question but yea the circle is the color of the gear. At 15 you can get a quest in Vesper Bay that requires 1 Orange Juice, then you can unlock the ability to dye your gear different colors.

How do I start leveling gathering and crafting professions?

Go to whichever town has the guild that you wanna join, talk to the receptionist (should have the quest thing above their head, maybe not). He'll ask if you want to be a lumberjack or w/e, then have you talk to the guild leader who then gives you the first tool and makes you craft a level 1 item. After that you're set to get crafting! Theres a supply NPC too which I think is gonna be beta only but they have all the level 1-15 mats you'll need available there in the guild.

i am not even going to bother with crafting until open beta seeing as these characters are going to be wiped

I think I've played way too much WoW PTR hahaha... I have no problem just relaxing and testing some shit out.

They're in every DoH guild, usually by the receptionist. Except for the blacksmith/armorer guild I think both suppliers are outside by the armorer guildmaster.
