spirit within is a bad final fantasy movie .. but its not all that bad of a movie ... the problem is people have certain expectations when something caries the ff name ... if you go into the movie not expceting materia and chocbos then its an alright movie

now AC on the other hand was a very very good movie but i still dont think it quite does the ff name justice

Advent Children is shameless brand expansion, all about squeezing the $$$ out of you obsessive Sephy and Cloud fanboys you know it's true! All the merchandizing, the movie, Dirge of Cerberus spinoff crap. They are milking it, and it is shameful. It's the same crap that led to FFX-2, and the same crap that has made spiffy CGI sequences and cliche, homogenous anime like characters more important to Square than actual gameplay. I rag on FF7 a lot, but FF7 started the whole trend. It has kinda ruined Square in my book, though it certainly lines their pockets.

the movie was assuming you played the game ... it didnt need to do any real character developement
