dude, that whole game was great..one of the best games square soft has made

The first disc, I agree. Could of been the greatest

But after... Wow that game went downhill. I don't know if square ran out of money, or just had no idea where to go with the game. But damn it blew.

When i was about 10-12 my dad brought home a ps1 with ff7. Had played ff3 before was ok but nothing great imo, but ff7 was awsome
sucked it was a used system and the controler wouldnt go right for some reason. I could start the game watch the sceen run by the train and to the next screen where u are in the end of a tunnel gotta go right, I could see baret biggs and all of em but couldn't get to them.
Was a long wait for like a hour till i got a working controler but all worth it turned out to be tied for best ff ever imo. ff8 was equal to it to me but those were some of my first rpgs so may be why i like them so much.

You think Final Fantasy III/VI was "ok but nothing great imo?" Jesus Christ.

i remember years ago i was subscribed to Nintendo Power and while reading an issue, i noticed an add for final fantasy 3 for the DS.
it went something like this: http://www.ndstaster.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/ffIII.jpg
just without the four in front and there was a subtitle like "create your party, any way you like." along those lines. needless to say, i got reeeeeally exited. it was unlike anything i had seen before. (i was never really into FF at the time, but that add peaked my interest.) i got the game, and i loved it. the models, music and (oddly enough) the font used in letters hold a good place in my memory. i also only got to the final boss, but i was never able to beat it... my cousin's friend apparently stole it from him when the former borrowed it from me. luckily i got it for the ipod, so all is good again.

I fell in love with final fantasy 7; That was my real first RPG, until then i was obsessed with 'fighting' games and the megaman series.

These threads are starting to get very redundant and boring. I'm curious how you all got into the Final Fantasy franchise. Is it more of a pastime for you? Do you still religiously crank out ~15 hours a day completing disc after disc, sidequest after sidequest?

I, personally, was introduced to the PSX games at 11 years old. I had watched my friend play VII time and time again, for the most part knew the entire plot and was lucky enough to be over there when he beat the game. It took a while but I finally convinced my mom to take me to Wal Mart or Trade A Game or whatever it was, and she hooked it up with Final Fantasy VIII and the BradyGames strategy guide to go with it. At that age, without a doubt my reading abilities sky-rocketed, I learned to make better use of my imagination, and was able to get a good grasp on heroism, love, destiny, one's own true calling, before I was old enough to even have to deal with those sort of obstacles.

Easily one of the more memorable, molding days of my childhood/teenage years.

same damn thing / VIII, same story as you lol :) hi2u!
