K, then you completely missed the point of my post, good job. Most of that post wasn't directed at you anyways, it was about the person asking about guides.

And, on some people's list, yes FF7 is rated kind of high. But, imo, I think it's THE most overrated game ever made. If there was ever a list of most overrated games of all time, my #1 vote would go for FF7. Do I think it's a bad game? No, it's a good game that was enjoyable(yes, I've beaten it multiples times). But it is highly overrated.




? When did I ever say 9 was the best? I've said multiple times in this forum that Tactics is by far the best FF game, BY FAR. I do think 9 is better than 7 though in terms of story, atmosphere, and just the efficiency that the story is told with.

8 is easily 2nd best to Tactics, and another game that is better than 7, I hope you enjoy it!

While i slightly agree it maybe a LITTLE overrated, it is still the BEST final fantasy game ever made, in just about Everyone opinion .. just because you didnt enjoy it as much as others, doesnt make the others better.

That's not necessarily true, there's something in this world called bias. I guarantee you that most people that are familiar with the FF franchise played FF7 first before any others. Or, rather, most people that say FF7 is the best probably played FF7 first, it's just a common bias. That doesn't make it the best, it just has the highest nostalgia factor by far. It came out during a time where the Playstation was starting to pick up steam, and it was one of the early marquee games on that system. Best is an objective term, but I think a lot of people look at FF7 through that nostalgia glass in a non-objective way. Just my 2 cents.


EDIT: Oh, and I forgot, in terms of enjoyment, I'd be lieing if I said that I didn't enjoy FF7 as much as the others. In fact, it is probably the final fantasy that I got the most worth out of, I've beaten it far more times than any other FF. But, that doesn't mean I think it's a better game.

This thread has made me want to play 7, I just might once i've finished 10 again. That or Chrono Cross. FARK. So many games left that i haven't finished, All the SMT series, Dragon Quest, Grandia, Wild arms. Eternal Sonta.

Starting FFVII on my PSP right now

that more than likely isnt true about people playing ff7 out of any first .. final fantasy has been around for YEARS before 7 was even talked about , or released .. then came 7 and blew everyone away with how epic it was/is.

o.O im not saying it isnt possible for another final fantasy to maybe be Better in someone elses opinion, but to me and many others 7 is the king.

back when i had my psp i had it on there, VERY nice to have on psp, because you can take it with you, pause whenever you want & you can change the screen resolution to your liking
