^ I completely disagree. Anyone who has played XI for a long amount of time can back this up. But, it's structured just like the early FF games. I think it's realer than VII or VIII.

What I find interesting is that VII is the most untrue to the FF franchise, yet it's the most popular.

Elaborate what you mean by untrue to the FF franchise.

If anything 12 and 13 are the most untrue, 12 in a good way.

ff6, I like ff7, but to me ff6 has more of a fantasy feel to me.

What I mean is that they all emphasize teamwork, and having a defined role. In 7 you basically have 3 overpowered characters that can do anything and everything at the same time. This is a result of the materia system obviously, the only thing that sets the characters apart is different limit breaks. Like I said, I think that VII and VIII are the least true, but moreso in VII because you have more freedom to equip materia, but there are more limits to the junction system in VIII.

Tactics, 10, 7 in that order.
