Best Party

Squall - Lionheart is the best damaging move in the game.

Irvine - His limit is a good move too for damage

Zell - His limit is also really good, you can keep looping specific moves and do the correct inputs in about .20 seconds if you're fast enough. Leading to a lot of damage

Don't level up your guys until much later in the game, just focus on drawing a lot of spells, collecting items, and gaurdianforces. This reason for this is the later gf's have an ability which gives you +1 bonus to a stat when you level up. Focus on maxing out your strength, ESPECIALLY on Irvine. With his strength really high his quick shot limit does massive amounts of damage.

Don't ignore your evasion junction abilities on later GFs, I actually preferred junctioning Ultima to evasion it gives you about 33% evasion, and you won't get hit by anything that does physical damage.

Some newb tips

Draw from everything before you kill them so you won't miss any GFs or hard to come by spells.

The spell upgrading abilities on GFs are invaluable for getting powerful spells early in the game, takes a lot of work though.

Monsters level up with you, so rushing to a high level early doesn't really put you at an advantage. A lot of people say it'll make your party weaker, but I've personally never had this problem.

All I can really think of at the moment.

Oh yeah also ST-Atk-J with blind, or death is pretty good early on.

my gfs abilitys dont even show that option

do i have to unlock something else first?

I think he means those:

Quetzacotl:
First learn T Mag-RF (make Light spells from items), then you can learn Mid Mag-RF (Make better Spells from low spells 5:1)

Alexander has high-Mag RF but you get Alex in the End of CD2 and you will already have lots of High spells then.

I personally never used thos abilities a lot, but with some work you can get a lot of mid lvl spells in the early game, to raise your stats.

Playing without gaining lots of levels makes the game easier, if you can get high spells early, since you can junction them for very high stats even if you are low level.
Pros play the game trying to avoid any exp gain and level up in lategame with the Str-Plus/Mag-Plus/... abilities to get highest Stats. I wouldn't recommend this as your first playthrough.
Still, as he said, i wouldn't farm for levelup in early game since enemies level with you (including bosses) and you do not really gain any adavantage from it.

if you have yellow hp spam triangle to get limit breaks

look for a card called "abyss worm" (i think)

card mods into windmill, which turns into 20 tornadoes

the game is to easy to exploit

i cant figure out how to junction magic so when you attack it inflicts things like blind and sleep etc

i can get to the screen but the lines for attack and defense are just grayed out

is there a gf ability i need to learn first? if so then which one?

thanks

Learn Boost first, if you actually like summoning them. You can tap square(I think it was), and boost your damage.

I think that Irvine and Zell have the best limit breaks in the game, Zell particularly. Zell is a beast against bosses, his two easiest moves, "Punch Rush" and "Booya" can be used back to back, and are so easy to pull off. You can literally do about 50 of them in a 12 second period. Obviously, Lionheart is a beast too(Squall's last limit), but his limit breaks are chosen at random.

One of the best things you can do, is learn luck junction on whichever GF has it(cactuar I think), and put the best possible thing to boost your luck on it. Believe me, it's all you will need. Try to give each characters the right GFs too.. what I mean by this is make sure that each character can junction to every major stat. Not all the GFs have overlapping junction abilities.

Always have someone with draw, and always check Draw on boss battles, you can only get some GFs from boss fights through Draw, and some high level magic.

I'd actually recommend having Draw an All your chars.
I never really needed Item unless i transformed Bahamut Card in the lategame.

If you want the help you're asking for just read a walkthrough. But some tips...

Get good at cards, check the walkthrough and make sure you don't waste any opportunities for 1 of a kind cards
Always check every boss for a gf and nice magic
don't level too much (try to avoid) until you get the +1 stat per LCMs
save often, in every area there is a monster that can pk you and you don't want to have to backtrack (trust me it's annoying)

Umm... you can have draw and item both junctioned at the same time. It's not like you have to remove one to use the other. And Item can be very useful especially if you are doing a SCC.

Draw isn't necessary on every character unless you are one of the types of people that basically draw whore(or just stand there drawing until you get 100 filled up on all chars). I never played that way, I'd just draw a few times a battle, win and then split up what I drew later. You can get plenty of magic by playing normal and actually finding and using draw points. I only like draw on one character because I can make room for more useful abilities on my other characters. Of course, early in the game, I always have at least 2 with draw until I can get some of the better abilities unlocked.

Draw becomes pretty useless after you get Card Mod and those abilities to make magic from items.
