well i also do a lot of musci recording.. lots of media requires lots of ram

i run programs like cubase which takes a lot of load on the computer so for not only gaming i knew that lots of ram was necessary for me. was 8 g overkill? maybe. but whatever i wanted to build a good reliable computer taht would still be superior in the next couple of years

high-very high? You are on crack. His computer isnt that good, his processor is good, but the most important thing is GPU, which is mediocreish. Ram makes very little difference.

Yeah because a geforce 9600 is shit and 8gb ddr3 too

By the way, the processor is one of the most important thing if you wanna run a good game.

not sure why u got 6gb ram but that is a sweet comp. I scored like 1700 on the benchmark but aside from the lag. I am playing with max settings - shadows which are set to medium

i have 6gb because my asus board is triple channel hence 3x2 gb's of ram to keep it in tri channel most intel boards run in tri channel as for alot of amd setups have dual channel ram so you would want to pair it by 2 sticks or 4 sticks etc
