Vivi in 9 Hands down made the game my favourite, but all around 4 was the best, the crystals being destroyed by the villian, getting Red Mage, Black Mage, White Mage, 24+ different professions you could be ranging from Knight to Thief to Lancer Plus it was really fucking hard. Literally hundreds of hours of sidequests. Main character turning from bad to good. Seriously badass game.

VII... Sephiroth is pure win.

Also VI...Kefka is a crazy psycho clown.

Character design was horrible. Game was good, but just looking at that lame ass Knight pissed me off.
Woulda preffered FF7/FF8 style designs.

Like I said, the characters reflected the tone of the game. The game had a more humorous tone than those directly before it, and the design of the characters was an integral part of it. FF9 had some of the most memorable characters in the series for me, sorry that one Knight ruined it all for you. I enjoyed the character models, it was a brilliant design to fit the needs of the game. I'll admit, I prefer the designs in FF7/8 more, but I wasn't ruined for all others just because of it.
