Yeahhhh...God knows how long I worked on getting Tidus's ultimate in ffx. For some reason I just couldn't do that damn chocobo race. I'm pretty sure my controller wasn't working correctly, it was an old one and it had trouble turning at extremely inopportune moments. Pissed me off to no end. I got the ultimate in one playthrough and never really tried for it again.

Lol. I only got Yuna's and Wakka's ultimate weapon. I don't know why but I was addicted to blitzball.

That game was sick, I dunno why it got so much hate. I had games where I'd win like 12-0 pretty easily, depending on how the ball toss went and where the other team would swim with the ball. Did you beat Luca at the first tournament when it's supposed to be hard? I beat them at least 3-0 every time

Good points, and helpful to most people, though I have a capable computer that handles all of my media needs. I'm mainly interested in the blu-ray capabilities and the ability to bust out some of my favorite classics whenever I want. Will keep this in mind though, I might find some of those options convenient. How big of a hard drive do I need if I'm not storing lots of media on there? I'm assuming save game files and game downloads (map packs and the like) take about the same amount of space as on the 360? I've had a 20 gig hd for my 360 since I got my first one years ago and have never needed anything bigger.

Yes, let's not forget the blu-ray capability.
I find it easier just to keep my PS2 around to play my classics, rather then buying a used older model.

If you are copying everything to your PS3 like videos or downloading a lot demos, then yeah you can easily fill it up.
If you are using an external hard drive, then it is really easy to keep free space. I have the 160gb but because I store movies etc. on the external hard drive I don't think I will ever fill it.

@ Load:

They no longer produce any backwards compatible PS3's. If you want one expect to pay more than the price of a new one for it used and you'll only find it on the bay/craig's place.

If you have an HDTV, Load, than a PS3 would be a better console possibly; the detriment is the game selection (to guys like us) is still worse. Also, the 360's controller is more natural for shooters. But you have a computer for your media needs too which takes away from the PS3's usefulness.

Really the only reason I'd buy a ps3 would be to be able to play my classics on my current setup. My regular tv broke a couple of months ago so I got a hd computer monitor and run my 360 via VGA cable to it; my ps2 can't connect, so I was going to get a ps3 to connect to the monitor instead of buying a tv to use the ps2 with. I'd get ff13 on the ps3 if I owned one, but the only playstation only game I'd really be interested in at this point is ff13-versus.

tl,dr: if it can't play ps2 games, I probably won't even buy a ps3

I highly doubt that your monitor does not have a S-Video input.
If playing PS2 games is all you are after then it will be more cost efficient to just buy a A/V&S-Video PS2 cable over a backward compatible PS3.

hmm i cant find the collectors at ebgames.com but i looked at other websites and it says it comes with:

* FINAL FANTASY XIII Original Sound Selection: a soundtrack CD including a selection of tunes from the game, especially chosen for this Limited Collector’s Edition by composer Masashi Hamauzu. The CD is presented inside a slipcase featuring artwork from FINAL FANTASY XIII, with liner notes written by the composer himself.
* The World of FINAL FANTASY XIII: an exclusive hardback book featuring characters artwork, CG rendered images and environments from across the game production.
* Exclusive Art Prints: 3 highly collectable art prints showing artwork of the Eidolons, powerful summoned allies of the lead playable characters of FINAL FANTASY XIII.
* Unique ‘Brand of the l’Cie’ decal: Collectible decal featuring this most iconic symbol from the game storyline.

how much is it like 70? not worth it to me -_-
