I'm going to go for the popular choice (well, not in this topic). FF2.

I've played:
FFI + VII + VIII + X + X-2 + XII

Besides X-2 obviously sucking major cahones, I thought XII was a bit boring after a while (though the storyline was pretty decent).

Kingdom Hearts so far has had much better games compared to the recent FFs.

X-2 wasn't AWFUL, it was just easily the worst. Having now beaten 12, I can safely say 12 is weak for the series (gameplay was interesting but I mostly disliked the "anybody can do anything just as well as the next guy" and the story, while enthralling, seemed to be missing something (perhaps some sort of romance?)). Though I've only ever touched 2 (never even got past the opening) because of how bad I've heard it was. I have it sitting a few feet away from me if I ever change my mind though.

I think I'm the only person who really enjoyed ff10-2. I liked it way better than the original. My least favorite is ff8.
