i think walkthrough is only for when you get really stuck, but when i have played the game to the end and then look in a walktrough afterwards...

some items are just impossible to obtain if you dont do everything *godly-perfect* from start to finishline in some games. And some quests are never obtainable if not taken at the right time. i think its fun to have a challenge, but it should be more flexible ways to obtain this items and quests.

i hope i remeber this right..
i.e. FFVII - the chocobo breeding, i remeber that this was a tricky one to do without WT, and where to find all the potions that make your stats go up (i think mine are 99 or 255 smth), but where to find those potions

i.e. FFVIII -the cardgame, hard (is there anyone that has achived 100% on this? screenshots) and the ufo-peninsula-balambgarden quest, i mean i found that quest by an freakish accident...but who are to know that you shall return to the balamb crater and fight him, only to give him elixirs?

i.e. FFX has some items you need to get from the very begin or you will miss out on some ultimate weapons for the characters if you dont get every piece and thing right. hard to know, esp when the first piece is to be collected the first hour you play, thus easy to miss (i did) ..i didnt find out before i saw the walkthrough later.

i.e. FFXII has some treasure-jars that you should not break, but leave them alone...because if you do leave them alone you will get to obtain the best weapon in the game at the end. The treasure jars breaking and non-breaking pattern are so irregular and unlogical ...that id really like to see anyone trying to figure out which jar to break and which jar to not, without the walkthrough or any help at all. REALLY!!?

Abusing triple triad and Quetzacoltl's card ability made no level games fun to play =p

Easy trick to get tonberry: Give your highest HP character the Kamikaze ability, you'll do about 54k damage and one-shot tonberries.

first time i played ff8 i got to the last boss with only lvl 44 chars,
needless to say i had to start over thanks to the epic fail on my part.

the card game i love i almost had all the cards but the only thing that stood in my path was the card queen.
i was pretty annoyed when i lost a handful of charactor cards.

but best part was gathering 100ultima spells for elemental junction, squall and zell were never hurt by any elements.
