It's all about opinions
i started with FF8 and finished it like 3-4 times and i absolutly LOVED it
after that i bought FF9 and i was like, WTF is this
Then i decided to buy FF7 i also loved it but i really enjoyed FF8 more
I am playing FF10 atm and i think it's ok, not as good as 8 or 7 though
i heard 10-2 sucked... i also have it here but i want to finish 10-1 first

FF7 is the godly ffgame. Everything in it makes it the best game ever.. The Gameplay is just soo Wonderful! I remember the first time i tried it.. It was back in 98.. Gahh, old good times! 2nd place for me is always ff6.. Best story of every ffgame!

I really don't see what is so innovational about ff7. The materia isn't to great of a concept, and the battle system was just like most of the other ones. I personaly like ff8 best.

Vouche. X-2 sucks real bad, but 7 has an incredible storyline.

This movie sucked......the characters had no emotion.... there were no good fight scenes except with bohemeth... the movie blew

i dont really see why people think ff7 is the best
the chars are ok, at the end, cloud and vincent r the one's i like best
but i don't see how the storyline is so great
as for gameplay, at first while in Midgar, the place was good and packed with activity
there were a lot of events that happened in Midgar
but then once u got to the world map, it wasnt so good anymore
u traveled to places, and in most of the areas, u just do one "quest" there and move on
soooooo....FFX pwns all ^^

edit: oh yea, in the end, all u do is mime/doublecast/summon so its kinda boring the minute u beat the boss/weapons
and with kotr, nothing is really much of a challenge
and kotr takes soooo long >.>

everyone says FF7 is best because it is normally the first one people played. it was the first major final fantasy in the US that was a huge hit. and due to this all the original people who played it liked it best saying "the others arents AS good AS ff7". they compair every game and rate it based off of ff7 instead of by itself. its an amazing game though dont get me wrong. but if u compair it side by side with like FFX, i would say FFX is a much much better game. in a way you can see how they are sorta alike storywise, a blond guy is confused about his past and his future and gets caught up in this big adventure to stop a corupted company like in ff7 (shinra) or a corupted government/religion like in ffx (spira). notice the similarities between the two already? but FFX clearly has a much more detailed storyline, amazing graphics, alot more sidequests, actual characters speak, and its a well developed storyline in a 3d world.

but FF7 is a great game i suggest playing it. i also just replayed it for first time in a few years. i just beat ruby weapon but im at emerald weapon right now. his air tam storm always pwns me >.<

but there is no clear winner of "which is best" its a matter of opinion and normally peopel say ff7 is best cause it was there first one and they loved it, or they say it to agree with other people and not look stupid. you can disagree with me if u wish but that just further proves my theory.
