If you think it's a great game, then you haven't considered its gameplay design compared to the rest of the genre.

When I play a game I play it for fun. I dont sit down and say "Alright....lets compare how well this game does things to other games in the genre" Yes there are more in depth gameplay in other games but still I think its a great game.

Why cant you accept that people think its a great game? You seem to be on a crusade against FF7 lol.

i used to be a hardcore ff7 fan, i know every secret possible, ive collected every single item, most effective combos possible, how to power level, how to master a kotr in an hour or two, ect ect ect, ive played that game 10+ times over. and only now am i realizing many aspects of the game that could have been much better, and that if they did remake it as there are so many rumours of, that there should be some key changes, not just a graphics update. the main reason i say this is because ff7 was a rushed game as they wanted it to be an early release for the ps1, and many aspects of the game were incomplete. and being rushed ff7 was not brought to its full potential.

This is why you're a fan, maybe an aficionado, and not a designer. Unlike you, when I sit down to a game, I have fun, but also analyze the game's design and see how it can be improved.


Because Final Fantasy VII isn't a great game. That's why. It's good, I grant you that, but calling FF7 great is like calling Paul Blart: Mall Cop comic genius; they're both overstatements.

I can see this will get us no where. I still think FF7 is a great game and nothing anyone says will make me change my mind. Im not saying your opinion is wrong or mine is right....thats exactly what they are opinions. I'll leave it at that.
