FFVIII is really easy. If you play the card game, you can easily get all the best items in the game at the end. And junctioning made this game really really easy.

There isn't really that much that you can miss in FFVIII item-wise. The main thing is the GFs. Just have draw equipped at all times and try and draw from every boss and you won't miss a GF.

The main items you can miss are items that tell you how many times each character has died, how many times you've escaped, how many kills each character has + various other bits of information. Not really a big deal.

Apart from that, there are a few missable Pet Nametags. They just allow you to rename your GF, and I THINK they can be gotten easily later on the game by refining.

Steals from bosses can be gotten from refining too.

FFVIII is one of my favourite FF games. It's extremely easy if you know how use the junction system (you can get 255 Str and Squall's second best weapon before Dollet, which allows you to kill the Elvoret in 1 Renzokuken), but I love the story (even though it gets a bit weird towards the end)/characters/music/junction system/etc.

Are there also cards that you can miss and never find back later?

Ah yeah, I forgot about cards. The only card that's 100% missable is the PuPu card (you have to do a little side quest before disc 4).

If you complete the Card Club quest, then all the cards you miss in discs 1-3 can be gotten in disc 4. If you don't complete the Card Club quest, I think they're all gone for good (there might be another way to get them but I can't remember, possibly the Card Queen in disc 4).

I also forgot to mention something about the GFs. All drawable GFs that you miss in discs 1-3 can be drawn from certain bosses in Disc 4.

The Doomtrain GF CAN be missable. I think if you visit Johnny's Shop later (in a certain place later on in the game that I don't really want to spoil), you can get him. Just get him before disc 4 and you'll be fine (you might need to use a guide though, since the clues to get him are like impossible to figure out).

Draw alexander from edea at the end of disc 2 or you are super fucked on doomtrain biggrin.gif

And again, if you don't have the ultimate weapon at the end of the game, gl

You could always draw him from the Catoblepas in Disc 4 and get the Med LV Up ability that way.

For Lion Heart, you can kill Adamantioises for the Adamantine, Blue Dragons for Dragon Fangs and Elnoyles for Energy Crystals (it's a random battle in Ultimecia's Castle, so it'll take a bit longer).

Not sure about the other weapons though. I imagine you can get most, if not all of them.

You just need to use the card trick. Refine a card, then play the left Diamond Sister on the Ragnarok to get the card back, then keep repeating for however many times you need.

But yeah, it's definitely much easier just to get everything in Disc 3 (except for where you can use the card trick).

So it is possible to do all side quests and get everything in the game by disc 3?
Is this what you are saying?

I found FF7 to be easier to play, and more enjoyable
