The way that Yoshida (the game's director) is describing the game is that the difficulty will just about only be found at end game, and it will be extremely difficult. This is where my hopes lie...

You have to already have beta access to read it I think, but Yoshida outlines his plan/s for the game in a stickied post. He mentions that the early game will be very easy so that new players are given time to learn. But the difficulty will gradually increase up until end game where the difficulty will take a dramatic increase and the game will then cater to "hardcore" gamers, ie: most of us. He encourages more experienced gamers to view the game as "fun" instead of challenging, until endgame, where he referenced the need for particular class compositions, strategies & the time and intelligence to research fights so as to be prepared. Basically if you liked wow raiding before it went casual you'll like endgame is what I think that's what he's trying to reference without actually saying it. All this being said, personally I don't care that much if yall play or not, I just didn't want you to mistakenly think the game was too easy based on the first xx levels, you should go read his post if you have time, its pretty good. Hopefully this helps some people.

Sharing this sentiment. The level of depth, the sense of adventure, etc etc. Nothing will ever beat FFXI for me.

FFXI is still the best MMO out there, which is kinda sad. It has changed since the cap is 99 now, but it is still very very deep - and there is a lot more to do now than when the cap was 75. They kinda fucked up with the Adoulin expansion, making relic/mythic/empyrean weapons kinda useless, but there is still a ton to do.

ya i am a Thaumaturge and i went conjuer till lvl 2 for cure and i was able to keep team alive in dungeon when the healer died lol, i was still able to cast my rotation and heal at same time

and as for retail i would prob agree with Extz i am probably going to refund the game to if it does not get any better then this

I felt the same way, I did enjoy FF11 though for the first few months until I got to level 40 and couldn't earn enough gold for items and couldn't find a party to accept me. Also I posted in my other thread that I'm just going to do is the same stuff over and over until 60? The game is clearly worth $40, and the $10 a month and should occupy you for 6+ months easily compared to any other game out ATM. I played WoW for a month and tried most of the chars(which is the best part to ff and wow imo) then got sick of going quest to quest and I was happy at first cause I'm like oh nice good items I needed to look cool, but where does this end?

I loved how D2 worked such as MFING/Attaining sexy items/PVP....Hell without PvP D2 wouldn't of lasted so long. I just don't want to dungeon/raid until 60 and be like bleh. I will purchase it and play it until I get bored, but I don't see this being something like D3 where you planned on purchasing it and playing the hell out of it to get max end game gear/level and end up being disappointed cause D3 had nothing to offer, not even crappy PvP.

So I guess since it's d2jsp we're all hardcore gamers looking for something similar to the D2/WOW experience where people put their life into the game always trying to achieve something new. I look forward to having some fun with the game for a little while. I just need to look how crafting/making items and gil works a little more. I played most of the characters in beta, and archer seem to be the only character that looked fun(and cool, mostly cool because other wise I wouldn't want to invest time into looking sweet and having good damage) other than that there wouldn't be a reason to play.

Opinions?
