FF8 was one of the best for magic, although you are limited to whatever number of magic they give you, you can always find other places. Some monsters had bad ass magic too.

and also .. i ddint read all of the post (12 pages worth ) but im mad on the first page not one person suggested the best one of them all .. ff3/6 .. kefka is one of the best vilains in all of the ff series

the jump rope mini game in the beginning of ff9 makes it the greatest ff game...jump rope mini game is the best story line that needs to exist

I agree. FF3/6 is my favorite Final Fantasy.

Each of the characters had their own storyline and backround, moves..everything.

And you arn't stuck with character classes but a numerous amount of people.

Kefka was the first bad ass villan before Sephiroth, Seph, even took the "Fallen One" move from Kefka, renaming it to "Fallen Angel" or something of the sort.
