Seeing as how on FFX you can get all of the characters to have complete max stats, with 99,999 HP and dealing 99,999 dmg per hit, it would sadly have to be Wakka. Despite him being an absolute cunt, his Attack Reels dealing 12x99999 is not something to mess with.

Squall since the junction system is way overpowered. Auto-Haste and 255 speed makes him faster than most, if not, all other characters. Lion Heart would easily take care of Wakka's 99,999 HP and due to his massive speed (510 with Auto-Haste), Squall would always attack first. Not to mention you could equip him with Initiative to have the ATB bar maxed at the start.

Or you could do the same with Selphie and use The End instead of Lion Heart. 1-hit KO on anyone unless they're undead. Actually nah, that'd be crap. Just use Zombie on yourself, easy.

Lol at all the Cloud fanboys . Junction system > materia system. The FF9 chars have no chance vs Squall either.

Judging by what Tom is saying, the FFX chars are the only ones which would give Squall a run for his money, but I'd still say Squall has the advantage. I'm not really THAT experienced with FFX though, I played it to the end and got bored after fighting Sin for the last time. I never got my characters powered up enough to see their true potential and didn't really do many sidequests.

Yeah as much as I'd love an FFVIII character to win, and especially Squall, the ridiculous way that FFX stats work means that no-one really stands a chance can get 255 on all stats with 99,999 HP, and then you can get weapons with "break damage limit" or something like that to make damage up to 99,999 instead of 9,999 which previous games were capped at (apart from Eden, maybe others but not that I know of). Also on FFX you could get auto-haste, ribbon, break HP limit and I dunno.. whatever else you want on the 4 sockets that any armour can get. A bad move on Square-Enix's behalf I think, because the final boss goes down in 3 hits and you can make a nearly invincible team :/

FFX characters aside though, it has to be Squall for the reasons Vio put forward.
