I'm hoping the actions shown are time based battles still.
If it's like ff7 where attacks and materia can be used quickly enough that battles are almost seamless with basically 0 downtime once you get hasted ect. I will be one happy camper.
If it's like god of war fighting or ninja gaiden.... well Lord have mercy on square because gamers will not. If they try to force the new era style of final fantasy/ .hack fighting system on a remakes mechanics i will be pretty damn pissed off.
It's not going to follow the newer batte system style. Wake up and get over it, Square Enix have destroyed what FF was and they have no intention on making up for it.
The newer generations of gamers will play this new FFVII because it looks cool and they heard the original FFVII was amazing. They'll love it because they didn't grow up playng turn based games like we did, and then they'll become potential customers for whatever upcoming shit Square Enix has planed for the future. That's all that matters to them.
They purposedly waited half a year to show what the gameplay was really going to be like in order to let the hype build and let the internet give the game the attention they wanted it get, so that now millions of people that never played the original are excited about it.
