Every single thread nowadays turns into dudes forcing their opinions on which of them are "good." You nerds don't get tired of this? 7, 8, 9, 3, 4, Tactics, whatever, all irrelevant to this thread.

gameplay and graphics-wise IX was the best installment for ps1.

yeah 13 is a decent game but what really annoys me the most is that it has 3 Squals to it...when i saw lightning returns i was like god....seriously, i so felt like selling my games lol >,>, but most of all the best ff games would be (6, Imo) 7, 8, 9 and 10!

XIII-2's storyline was too complex to just "end" it at that. I've re-watched the ending a few times and looking back it would've sucked had it just been like "okay game over world saved the end." I'll admit it's partially a marketing scheme to draw it out in another installment but a lot of shit will be set straight in Lightning Returns.

FF XIII was a joke to all FF fans... But as you have never played any, you might really enjoy it. I have loved every FF until 10 and beat most of them. 12 was pretty decent aswell but never got into 11 or 14 because of online.13 just sucked for the lack of free roaming...

Reflecting back on XIII as a Final Fantasy title it's not actually as bad as I first thought. However as your first Final Fantasy game you have undoubtedly chosen the worst of all the titles. I know it's a matter of preference again but don't be so hasty to judge the series from that game alone. If you do like the game give XII a go next as that is probably one of the better and more recent titles you can choose from.
