I found out myself that once you make it to the Giza Plains part, and crossing them to travel into the ozmone plains, don't get any farther in the game for a bit. Stay in the Giza Plains and level your ass off. I think I was level 19-20, somewhere around there, with my main party, and I had trouble in the Ozmone Plains, big time. So, I stayed in Giza Plains for a long time and leveled, to about 35 or so. In addition to making me super strong, this got me a lot of loot which I desperately needed to buy better weapons and armor.


Also, I found that once you have a few quickenings, be sure to go back to the Tomb of Wraithwall and kill the first Demonwall. You need the Demonsbane Sword badly, because it is the best sword you have available to you for a little while. The previous best sword, the Blood Sword, had 41 atk power, and the Demonsbane has 59. Quite a big jump I found.



One last thing...Im curious to know who you use as your main party. I use Vaan, Basch, and Balthier. I like Balthier because guns ignore target defense, and balthier started with the gun, so I just continued with it. Basch and Vaan for me are hitting for 2.5k dmg per shot with their swords (both use the Diamond Sword). They are my tanks.

i just entered the tomb of raithwall and pk'ed the moving demon wall .

i found the BEST PLACE TO LVL is in the lhumos mine area..the undead zombie things that pop up giv you 130 exp per party member also...because they are the only monster back there..SO MY KILL CHAIN WAS LIKE 300 LOL...also the bone links that they drop go for like 128 gil each..i had 22 in my loot...lol.

went from lvl 12 to 19 easily. and got like 20k gil

my main chars are....

VAAN--best items i can get atm...the first hand axe...round shield....mages habit...wizard hat...netechite for accessory

im not sure if im suppposed to have mages habit yet...it seems TOO good to have early on in the game as an armour. but..w/e

BALTHIER-- same as VAAN except using the linen curiass and battle harness

BASCH-- same as BALTHIER except he has the orrachea armlet. like 1600 life lol.

PENELO-- she is my caster and healer..i got her all the wizard gears..mass magic potency stuff and ether regen licences. she knows every available white magic up to now and every green/time magics.

FRAN-- for some reason i dont like fran..idk...slag lol. anyway.. i havent yet re-equipped her because i just bought poach for 7k gil so....iso: gil lol. she uses assasin dagger, ringmail, the libre accessory thing, she does however have huge magic dmg. like amazing atm, can 1 hit pk lvl 7-8 monsters usually like 5-600 dmg with water .

ASHE-- complete waste of time...she sux everywhere apart from having 1400 life...i just use her from raise and white magic..poorly geared..but still..when i have a guest in the party i always have her out ..otherwise i wudnt use her or lvl her lol.

Sounds alright, but I find that for progressing in the game, up until you go to fight the final boss or do sidequests, such as Omega Mark XII and Yiazmat, that focusing on just one main party works out the best. I found myself losing too many battles because all of my characters were of equally low level instead of my 3 main characters being of equally high levels.

I also prefer Balthier in my main party because he has some silence shot right now, and so with each hit he has a chance of inflicting silence on my enemies. Helps a lot, especially when Im fighting those stronger versions of the Coerl in the Cerobi Steppe that can cast Thundaga.

balthier with a gun. i prefe to kit all with a shield and handaxe. can range up to 650 dmg in 1 hit. but ye..silenece is cool.





im not stuck..so much as i feel my chars cud be much higher lvls.

belias? anyways i did a 1 hit pk on the moving wall with a near perfect 3 way quickenening lol...like 13k dmg or somethin.

do i get an esper soon?

Yes after the 2 demon walls, you should progress a bit more thorugh the tomb of wraithwall and then get your own Esper, as soon as you beat Belias (who is your esper). GL with Belias, I had a bit of trouble with him and I was at lvl 25. His Firaga attack inflicts the oil status.

ur best bet is leveling 3 chars u like. and uhm balthiers gun does a lot of dmg trust me its probably equal to vaans swords and such just cuz a item says it has more attack points doesnt mean it does more ^.^ and btw i think ur around same lvls i was so u can defeat belthias and uhm.. yeah i never lvled in giza plains cuz i did all my lvling in yam yensa sands or w/e (got to like lvl 25 there alone) and i thought giza/ozmone was after raithwall -.-

Hmm actually, I have a question.


I have my 3 main party members at level 85-ish with all 3. Unfortunately, my other 3 members are merely level 20. Is it at all beneficial to level them? If so, I can easily hit 60 or 70 with them in about 5 or 6 hours. Im poised and ready for fighting the final bosses. Would it be worth it to level the other 3? I thinking yes, but is is really necessary to win if my characters are all 85+ with the best gear they can get?
