Hey man, and another thing. Make sure you dont get the playstation 1 versions of FF5/6 Anthology. They load slow as all hell
i mean whenever you start a battle it takes time to load then when its over it takes more time to load. There pretty bad on the slow loading speed.
Also Final Fantasy Chronicles has the same problem with chrono trigger i cant remember if FF4 had slow load times on it tho since its been awhile since i played it.
I sold my copies of both chronicles & anthology as the loading were terrible on them.
Im told the gameboy advance versions or 5,6 are better since they have fast load times, and they have chrono trigger already on DS same with FF4 on DS & Psp.

You can download FF6 snes version on an emulator also if its still not on wii virtual console. be sure to plug an hdmi cable from your pc to your tv and you can use your
xbox 360 controller with the emulator.

Oh, and im also told that the psp versions of FF1&2 are the best versions of those games right now. I always see both of them for sale for pretty cheap if you have a psp.

Playstation 1 versions come with bonus cinematography and such. You must get pretty restless if you couldn't handle a second or two before the menu screen pops up; I put in like 80 hours with VI in like a week. I'd say I forgot about the loading speed after 20 minutes of gameplay.

ya that bonus added cutscene at the beginning just isnt worth it, theres only 1 added cutscene at the beginning of them i think.
you can watch those on youtube, but trust me you will hate the loading times. it almost makes you want to quit playing its that bad.
and its more then a second or 2. a second or 2 i can handle but the loading between every battle and even when you access the menu
is terrible.

i'd say get these versions:
FF1 - psp
FF2 - psp
FF3 - DS
FF4 - psp complete version also has the after years on it which i never played yet. theres also a DS remake (never tried it)
FF5 - gameboy advance - can play it in a ds lite.
FF6 - gameboy advance. or wii virtual console if its on there? dont get the one off psn as i hear its the same crappy version as the psx anthology version.

i had final fantasy origins for psx which has ff1/2 on it but i cant remember if it had the slow loading time problems the others had.

The three I listed can all be gotten from Wii's virtual console so thats why I am trying to decide between one of them

Hey man, i checked out the final fantasy games on wii virtual console and dont get Final Fantasy 1 cuz it sux that version they have. They have the old nes version an its a piece of crap.
Compare these 2 videos here on youtube:
Final Fantasy NES version on wii virtual console:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJhQRufkZ_0
Then check out the updated psp FF1 version on psp here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nloJbM1Ypnw
It looks much better then the crappy nes version of ff1 and even the psx version on origins is better then the nes one.

Also, the versions of FF2 on virutal console is actually FF4 its not the real FF2 i think the real FF2 is only on psp & psx origins.
But FF2/4 is a good one and FF3 is actually FF6 so i'd say either one of FF2/4 or FF3/6 both are decent games.
i just found a review of FF3/6 on utube here for the virutal console:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZFoQsA3bbo

ff3/6 or ff2/4 is fine with me, i thought they were the real ff2 & 3 games but there not.

I've only beat then second one, and I'm currently playing the first. In terms of story, #2 is a bit easier to follow, because you have some general direction as to where you need to go. FF1 was much more limited in storage space, so it's mostly aimless adventuring, but still a good game. FF3 fixes a lot of the issues in the earlier games and has much fewer glitches than the first two. FF3 is a bit easier to follow than 1 in terms of knowing where to go.

FF3 was also blessed with a 512k PRG chip which allowed for a lot more dialogue to spice up the story. FF1 and FF2 were limited with 256k PRG chips which allowed for a lot less content.

(I speak of the NES versions of the games NA and JAP.)
