I would recommend FF7 to anyone that is just looking for a fun RPG to pass the time. It's definitely a good game worth playing, and it does have replay value because of the depth of the content. However, I've never considered it an elite RPG. It's good for sure, and I wouldn't hesitate to play it, but in terms of a well put together story, story pacing, and character development there are definitely better games out there(including other FF games).

I might have to hold off on VII. I configured an emulator on my friend/co-worker's computer last night and he opted to start VII. I can see and hear his every move, so we're sort of soaking in the nostalgia together.

Crisis Core was actually good I thought.

If i could start a ps1 game right now it would be Suikoden, or Grandia. Never finished Grandia, Mine glitched out and i couldn't get past a certain part 40 hours in. There was just no door to advance.

One thing i dislike about JRPGS, You can't up the difficulty level. Which is why i love the mod for FF7 on the computer that increases the difficulty of the entire game by literally 200%.

SE should really look to pc gaming for the future... with mod communitys online and a willing audience that would give a great indication of how successful a ported console version would actually be. It really would stop mistakes like FF13 and increase longevity of games released.
