Nah, never cared for them. I think I tried using Rafa once, but she just pissed me off with her suicidal nature on the roof. Never used her again after that.

I think its the worst characters in any Final Fantasy game. I hate those 2 bastard kids more ( b/c of the roof top fight, that has gg items that you dont have time to steal b/c of the stop bracelets) than Cait Sith, Mog, Gau, Umaro, or anything resembling a character from the intial 11 installments.

it is more like chess than old Final fantasy battle system. I liked it, made it possible to get advantage by position rather than only by spells.

It's just like any other strategy RPG. The battle system is basically like a genre of it's own, plenty of games have been made like that.

The 3D map, and the elevation advantages/dis was what made it my favorite battle system.
Not to mention the character job element from FFV was great too, for this game.
Way better in tactics than in FFV imo.

I think the job system fits better in Tactics too, because of the fact you can take advantage of terrain and party positioning. Also, the job combinations you put out can make for some interesting battles, there is some level of strategy to setting up your party.

Right. I would be willing to pay twice as much for a FF installment if it would revisit this battle system. One thing that made it nice was that you could "leach" JPs as long as characters "witnessed" jp's being gained.

I like Reis as a Monk, with Barrette, Chantage, and Dark Robe ( 1/2 damage on lite, ice, fire)
with

Punch Art
White Magic
Blade Grasp
Short Charge
Teleport

Beowulf as Temple Knight, with Excalibur, Chaos Blade, Genji Helmet, Genji armor, red shoes.

Temple Knight Sword
Time Magic
Blade Grasp
Two Sword
Move +3

these are decent set ups that render you physically immune too. I like Reis for her stats, and Beowulf b/c of Temple Sword is fun to "run up the score" when trying to lvl out jobs and 99 the chars.

Equip two swords ability.
Place shield on right hand, weapon you want duplicated on left.
Go to shop, click best fit. Then yes. Now you'll have a duplicate weapon.
