does the guide actually help just as much as the online ones?

about all the secrets and completing without missing anything?

o.O imo you should just play through the game without the guide, and after your first playthrough then use a guide on your 2nd ..

dont want to ruin the game, its so good..

First off, the game isn't that phenomenal, so it's not like there would be anything to ruin lol. But, it's not like using a guide even ruins anything.. guides don't contain spoilers. They just tell you where to go/what to do to complete a certain portion of the game you're in, that way you don't have to waste time running in circles. Though, I'd say FF7 is easy enough that you don't really need a guide. The only thing it'd be nice to have it for is some of the side quests or quests that are hard to notice without looking up. Gamefaqs.com is just as good as any guide you can buy, and it's free.

You said "9" is the best in the series. Hate to tell you it's not even close. I'm sure fucking pissed right now I wasted 25 hours of my life to get to Disc 4 and be disappointed.

When I reached the end of "7" I loved every minute of the game play.

Therefore 7 > 9

Now I'm off to beat FF8 for the first time :)

9 IS one of the best in the series.

Don't understand how you can dislike it, Best side quests. Card game is fun, good story and fucking Vivi!

I'd play it right now if i could. Instead i'll indulge myself in 10 even though its nothing but a substitute.

If you didnt play Final Fantasy 7 when it first came out you probably wont find it to be as amazing as those that did. I myself find Castlevania Symphony of the Night to be one of the best games ever but when I got my buddy to play it he said he quit after 20 minutes.

tl;dr Games have really improved off their predecessors and people need to respeck the classics~

edit: ff9 was the worst of the PS1 series. The main character is a monkey and none of the limit breakers looked cool. Those were my biggest grudges =|
