and i don't think you guys understand why they are not remaking ff7. it's been discussed, and the person who want's to remake(the original creator) it has his reasons for not doing it.

I'm a big Final Fantasy fan of FFVI, if they ever decide to make a remake of it, yes, I would buy it if it was 500-1k range.

The only reason they haven't is because they've already said that if they TRY to it'll take them an upwards of 10+ years to redo all the sprites, the maps, the voice acting... XIII took them 4-5 years to make or something like that? With something like VII or VIII, ESPECIALLY VII, they'd have to step their game up huge.... It'd take too long, be a waste of money, and by the time it'd come out, most of the people who REALLY played it would be "too old to be interested" in their eyes.

Would take 5 years tops, reason XIII took so long was it had to be a brand new fucking game. new map new timeline and story line itd be same shit just upgraded grpahics and a years worth of voice actors

I wouldn't even buy them. Remakes are overrated, and a waste of time and money. Graphics and upgraded technology means absolutely nothing, if a game was a good game back when it was created, it will still be a good game today. Plus, if it was remade, any nostalgia factor would automatically be lost, and old games would just be exposed for being.. well, old.

Oh, btw, there are mods for the PC version of 7 that give it nearly early era PS2 level graphics. Point in case:




FF7 junkies have been modding the PC version of FF7 for years.

Part of what makes final fantasy 7 great, are the graphics .. they maybe bad, but thats the beauty of it .

e/ Also : i have heard that Sony is going to make an HD remake of FFVII , for the Sony NGO (PsP 2) .. it makes complete sense,, sony knows EVERYONE will buy a PsP2 , is they can play HD FFVII remake ..

I would honestly give so fucking much for 7 on PS3. I don't even know what to say atm, but something like that would be worth a lot of my material possessions.
