I personally don't like the games that came after FFX. Ever since Square became Square-Enix, the cames aren't the classic RPG type of game I personally like... it's a slightly different genre. And most of the staff has changed too, including everyone's beloved Nobuo Uematsu (the one who made the music for the games, it's almost a diferent thing to play without his music :( ). But, still, you might like it, many people also enjoy the new FFs

yeah, the merger really lowered the quality of games, squaresoft really sold out

i really hope versus brings it back up but i'm not too optimistic despite how sick it looks

Well, I played and completed FF13. I enjoyed it, to be honest. Loved it like I fucking love FF4? Sadly, no. To me, 13 felt like it should have had a different name. Final Fantasy is on that box to make sales, imo.

I agree, if they changed the name for Tactics or Crystal Chronicles, they should also have done it for the new games that don't continue the Classic RPG tradition, which is what the "normal" FFs should all do... and FFXI should have been calle FF Online aswell.

Sounds like it, but I would not look forward to fighting Yunalesca...

well, its really not that bad. the no summons/items challenge is even worse and honestly if i wanted to torture myself, i'd involve some form of sexual pleasure out of it.

it just takes patience and knowing game mechanics, tbh it was fun but i usually enjoy stat maxing more. dunno why but boosting my characters in each game is fun

I feel the same way, man.

It's cool to be insanely-powerful, but then I complain that bosses are too easy. xD

Like... maxing all the jobs in FF5. Ex-Death is so easy when you do.

well i generally beat the game before i do that, other than the final fight.  i try to make it difficult each playthrough; only using 3 certain characters, no mass leveling up, etc.

FFX is just a bit too easy for my taste, but its def. in my top 2/3.  Still, the game is so customizable and the story is quite well-made, that i enjoy it every playthrough.

Agreed. :D

yuna's not edgy enough for me in FFX, if thats the only thing i could say i didn't like about the game is that she's too predictable. I mean rinoa in FFVIII isnt much better but the reason i like VII so much is due to the females characters' personalities. theyre strong, edgy, and almost unpredictable at times.

maybe i look too much into it but i just like rikku as a character, yuna is the prototype female protagonist and lulu is well, every pervert's dream lol

I'd take Rikku over Lulu. ^^ Dat 15-year-old ass.

And yeah, Yuna is an emo bitch in 10. She gets a lot better in 10-2, imo.
