I have been playing FFXIV for a while now and have never run into the fatigue system. It's not a system based on time, it's based on how much exp you get and it recharges whenever you go offline or switch to another class. The game is designed for people to level multiple classes to "create their own class" by combining spells and abilities from other classes. When I first heard about the fatigue/surplus system I was terrified, but due to the nature of the game I now realize I will probably never even run into it.

Here's an excellent video someone made that explains the system perfectly, it sounds like you might be confused so it might be worth checking out. :)

The game has a lot of faults... way too many right now, things that should have been fixed in beta that weren't, so I think I would agree paying $13/mo at this point in time would be a rip off, but not because of the fatigue/surplus system.

Hope the video clears up some things!

Edit: The fatigue/surplus system was added because the Chinese government requires such a system to be in place to prevent serious addiction problems. Whatever else you heard are theories from haters don't listen to them!

You're a no lifer than.

Get fucking used to it or go back to 24h/7 WoW playing. Choose.

I have never once played wow. K thx. Retard. I PAY to play the game therefore the implemented system is bs. And again being a no life has nothing to do with it. You have no idea honestly lol. My husband and I make 60000+ a year and live a very comfortable lifestyle no being a 'no life' has nothing to do with it. I am quite happy with my life thank you.

Thank you for that :) I understand the process it is just when you only get about 8 leve quests a day how are you supposed to level other classes. I mean I know you can buy materials and craft to level it but 1. It is a pain in the ass 2. It is quite a costly thing gil wise. And without level quests and maxing marauder hard to get gil. I mean I guess obviously if you don't play much it won't hurt but for a hardcore player you do hit problems :/

You can do 16 leves per 36 hours. 8 battle/field leves and 8 crafting leves. The crafting leves are 100% free as they provide you with the mats and you get increased exp/skill from them. If you're a hardcore player then I guess the best suggestion I could give is don't tunnelvision into one aspect of the game. For example, I have level 16 thaumaturge, 15 conjurer, 16 weaver, 14 carpentry, 14 botanist, 9 alchemy, 4 leatherworking and I have plenty of gil from crafting. It's hard for some people to get into crafting but I would highly recommend it in FFXIV, not only is it extremely rewarding (upwards of 2k exp/craft (10-12k/leve)) it will also enable you to make your equipment for free, use all the materials you've found while leveling your favorite combat class, and allow your combat class to become less fatigued so you can level it more later. I haven't bought a single piece of gear yet and I have almost completely updated sets of gear for every one of my classes (including crafting classes) with 1 million gil on top of that.

I consider myself casual-hardcore, I play enough to level fast and learn all the ropes but I try not to play so much that it becomes my life, I know several people that grind out one class and have the exact same complaints as you and after I suggested they pick up crafting, they stopped running into fatigue and seem to enjoy the game slightly more.

Usually what I do every 36 hours is I solo the level 10 and 20 levequests (6) then do the 2 botanist leves (8), then do my 3-4 weaving leves and finish off with carpentry leves. This usually takes several hours to do and there is absolutely no grinding involved during this whatsoever. After I finish my leves I craft gear that I need, set up my bazaar on ffxivpro, buy/sell various materials, and craft using the crystals/materials I found during my leves. If I still have time leftover after all of this is said and done (there usually is), I'll take my conjurer or thaumaturge out to a cave to grind out some exp until leves reset. I have yet to run into a fatigue issue and I've yet to run out of things to do.

But I guess everyone plays differently, this is what I do and I'm enjoying the game, if you hate crafting and refuse to try it then the game might not be for you, but I'd say right now this game is very heavily centered on crafting. There's no content and crafting is probably the most rewarding aspect of the game right now.

When you do your craft levees make sure you use all the materials they give you even after you complete the items for the quest.

People are dumb. People always whine and complain about how all MMOs are too linear, or are just WoW clones. Then when something original comes along they whine that it's not like other generic systems. Make up your fucking minds... or do you people just like living in a constant state of pity?

Thanks. I have currently been leveling armorer blacksmith and marauder. I am going to widen it though to leatherworking and miner as well probably. Thank you for all the info. I had no idea about the timer and such heh. I guess it isn't as bad as I thought it was I saw a lot of forums saying 8 hours per week. I don't know if it was originally going to be that and it changed or what. I dunno how so many sites claimed that.

And thank you very much to enna for all your help. A lot of the forums I read must have been misinformed. I am not sure how so many were unless Squeenix changed some rules they were going to have in place. But your advice should help me a lot. Thank you for helping and not bashing like a lot of the people on here. You are fantastic.

You're welcome! I'm glad I can be of help. :)

The game certainly has its issues but I think judgment should be reserved until after the first patch.

Some links you and others might find useful:

Bazaar website: http://www.ffxivpro.com
General player communities: http://www.ffxivcore.com & http://ffxiv.zam.com
Advanced player community: http://www.bluegartr.com
Wiki: http://www.eorzeapedia.com/wiki/en/Main_Page
Databases: http://ffxiv.yg.com & http://www.ffxivarchives.com

Of these, my favorites are ffxiv.yg.com, ffxivpro.com, and bluegartr.com so I would highly recommend at least looking at these three, but the others can be great resources too!
