vanille is both the best Sab and Med in the game, thanks to imp debuffing / imp healing on different weapons
forget the healing one off the top of my head but imp debuffing is the marlboro wand \ belladona

but ive been farming adamantoise near the end of chapter 11, i have 4 weapons upgraded to their ultimate version already,
want to know how? well it would be impossible without vanille
Sab - Death spell > adamantoise.
you get it before heading back to coccoon, AND if you have been doing your stone missions, opens chocobo treasure hunting AND you can teleport from oerba to the highland steppes
vanille is the BEST char imo, i love the sounds she makes even.
oddly enough the one i like the least is Lightning, way to arrogant, leaving a kid to die because he cant jump as well as she can...
