blackhawk, you might be in luck. i think logitech released a universal keyboard for consoles, it's as cheap as like 10 or 20 bucks.

a mouse, however, is quite unlikely, so you might as well get used to the standard controller.

FFXI ain't bad.. I find it to be a fun game.. but I don't think its something that this late you can get back into very easily. Sure there's a lot of high levels out there, but getting to the end game takes a lot (mostly killing yourself on doing CoP) and lots of help. And if you end up trying the end game (which is what its usually about anyways, its tough to get into most linkshells without at least a few high level jobs =(
