Here's the thing...i've been playing it from 7...and it was the one i liked the story best,i'll telll u that...but as much as i liked materia i had to give it to them,they evolved not always in the right direction but thats evolution...and good lord did i like the sphere grids on 10...and the whole reprocessing on 12...imho those were the landmarks...I 2 got a little spooked with 13 when i started playing it with all the straight-forward walk BUT...to all of those that are trashing the game...have you really tried and played it? In my case im rather happy i now have SMART characters who dont always need me to tell them what to do...does that mean less work from me? NO well a little in normal battles but if i do recall properly, grinding was such a pain back in the days...having to input ALL the same things over and over again...they started with the gambit system and now gave us paradigms...shall we just complain? Or try to readapt and get the most of another GREAT game?

You haven't played 13 so you can't create a valid opinion.
Did I think FF13 is better than 7 before playing 13? No. Did I think FF13 is better than 7 after playing 13 and not even done with the game? Definitely yes.

That's because you are not fond of the story line, rather, you're just a fan of hack and slash and animations. Go play God of War 3, that's a great game too and more suited for you.
It actually gets amazing at Ch11, so you missed out.
