for replay value i suggest doing a challange file, like the no cristallium (sp?) usage, or no weapon upgrades, or both! its been proven you can get to chap 11 doing both

Haven't checked progress much lately, however people have gotten access to Chocobos / Gilgamesh Inc. and also have beaten the tower on a No Critstallum (however the hell its spelled) Game (NCU) so you can at least get extremely far in it, if Barth V2 is somehow killed you can probably beat the game. just takes 40 hours of grinding Gil on a Chocobo + whatever you spend farming shrouds lol

could also try a set class challenge, but i have a feeling that would be a bit too easy

a few people have tried to do the no crystarium run but were only able to get to barthandalus... theres just no way to kill him before he casts doom on you

actually people have killed him, it just took a ton of Gil farming and a bit of luck, unless you mean second barth, then i might believe you

i always wanted to try the nsg stuff on ff10
there where like 5 other letters added for things you could go without and eventually beat the game O.O
