It is if you don't like the equip/ability system nor the combat pace. Gief FF8 or FFX system, I want to be able to build my character's stats to my likings, where everyone can excell at melee combat/casting.

EDIT: This is my second playthrough, my first attempt failed at the second chaos guardian. My savegame got corrupted and I could start all over again. At the moment, I'm doing some chocobo hunting to get my hands on an ultima sword on disc4 and a Ragnarok, so I can get Shock, Stock Break and Climnhazard for Steiner.

ive leveled all to level 99 without knowing the boss ozma was there. uhh i actually knew he was there once alot of years ago. then i forgot it. im gonna have a fun time with him ^^ all chars do 9999 damage lol xD

i have played it through like 20 times so...

and comleted all on 100% , but excalibur II...thats just insade reqirement to complete

dealing 9999 with all chars and lvl up to lvl 99 is not a big deal m8

hunting down ozma u'll need a bit more than that basically u are able to kill ozmawith all chars on lvl 1

but u need right equipz and lot of luck

Zidane ,ViVI, steiner and garnett
this is my favorite party but I often Mix it up...I believe this is my 4th time through and I save all my games

Nope, because your timer starts counting again after about 5 times through 99:99 gametime, so you can then go grab it. Also, if you're playing on a PAL like me (I have every FF game I play original and non-platinum) on a ps2/3, you can't get the excalibur II.

Hey what's up dude, yeah it's been a few years since we last spoke

I love Zidane/Steiner/Vivi/Garnet party because they're the "main" characters and it just feels right when fighting with them. Amarant is beastly when he learns all skills and has some good weapons to throw, but I just like Garnet's ability to heal well + summon

And yeah FF8 is my favorite

And yeah, I know what you mean by 'main' characters. I also like the combination of vivi and steiner, with flare sword etc. I was actually surprised at how well amarant can be if you equip him decently, even without throwing weapons.

Care to accompany me in a no-level up playthrough of FF8?
