especially about the game playing being the best on FFVII , complete and utter joke.
the game play was extremely horrid , its a good job the story makes up for it.
7 is only so popular because its was many gamers first FF game of the series
older games such as 4/6 are a million times better , just dont get the recognition they deserve.
along with FFX/FFXII , gameplay wise these are the better ones. and for me , more entertaining than previous games due to the vast amount of sidequests ect.
im 100% certain fans wouldnt consider FFVII even in the top 5 of the series if you removed Cloud/Sephiroth
its the characters and story that make the game what it is.
thats basically every single game ever made
if you take the the main character and villain of any game the entire game is thrown off balance
cloud could be removed and it wouldnt affect the game that much since everyone else had there won motive for what they did
and if you took out sephiroth then well you can try to fix it with jenova and meteor and shinra and all the weapons but thats not likely
lets take ff6 since i see alot of people mentioning it
remove terra then you have wedge and vicks locke would just be a thief and no girl to lead him to midgar and noone to convince edgar to leaev midgar etc etc
and as fro kefka remove him and you have no evil influence over the emporer much less anything you have the ranomd bosses like the squid guy(whos name escapes me i think its like utaro) and a couple of esper bosses but then you would not even know about them since terra isnt there
