lol i just finished playing through ff7 again. still incredible. there's a reason used copies still go for like 50-60 bucks sometimes...

I didn't say ff7 started sidequests. Imo, ff7 was the game that brought it into the mainstream.

It brought rpgs to mainstream by being homogenous and unoriginal though not a lot to be proud of. Mainstream popularity just brings about a flood of crappy games, it doesn't elevate the quality of them even remotely, it just turns titles into popularity contests and cash cows

didnt really like 6 though it wasnt bad.. cant really get into 2d ones much...
i rate 8 pretty high cause unlike most ppl i dont mind if a game is a bit "different", but 7 still obliterates any other game IMO XD
10 takes a loooong time if you wanna get all the side quests and if ya do, it makes the final boss literally 1 hit kill, so hes just for storyline, but imo worth doing it all eventually

Definitely worth playing, and if you have the time, try final fantasy 9 as well. I prefer 9 in some cases and 7 in others. They both have their prominent points.

its an ok game, i dont like it much to many people are like OMFG WTF FF7 PWNS ALL ID LET CLOUD ANAL ME! and shit like that honestly...

not to mention the story line is awesome and since fighting the boss has a hardcore theme song, always look forward to fighting a boos haha
