i agree... people dont appreciate classics anymore i miss soul blazer, illusion of gaia, terranigma, robotrek, tacoma knights, paladins quest 1 and 2, etc etc etc... in my opinion snes will never be beaten for quality of games o.O

well the newest ff (ffxii) is a new battle system, u dont encounter enemies as in the previous ff's anymore, they just walk all over the place, u set up gambits and ur characters follow these, its bassicly still the same...the only difference is that u can still walk during the battle. If ur more into hack 'n slash i would not recommend the final fantasy series.

if your looking for a hack and slash type of ff get ff7: dirge of ceberus for ps2.

i would choose ff12 cuz its of course the newest one, and as i think one of the best (ofc ff I+II+VI+VII+... will never be forgotten).
as the aothers alrdy said, u have the real time thing...that makes the game more fluently, such things like leveling and so in is better...they also concentrate on sell some things u didnt need, only to make gil to buy sth, there are many side quests and u have to kill mobs and so on...its brilliant u can compare with guild wars nightfall

my favorites are ffx and ff12. both are ps2 games. ffx is actually the best turn based game ive ever played. its nice but as you want a game that is not so much turn based then i would say ff12 cuz it is a nice game you dont walk around and wait for the screen to crash then a monster come and fuck you up. you walk around in the nature like world of warcraft. but fuck world of warcraft it sucks. ff12 would be the best for you i think
