yep, create a shortcut to the game and place it on the desktop and try doing what's in the code.

dont work on any compatibility..

every time if i press "new game" the screen becomes black and nothing happens anymore

it's a labtop, lol, you sure you did the compatability mode right? right click on the ff7 icon, then go to compatability then change it to 98, it should work

try http://www.fileplanet.com/120095/120000/fileinfo/Final-Fantasy-VII-XP-Patch-1.4 its suppose to fix all problems with FF7 in XP... but Ive never played the PC version before so hope it works for ya.

haha i guess when u first started the game its a black screen yes? happened with me , u gotta open the menu then close again and the screen will come up , also happens when u get off the golden saucer monorail
