Various based opinions that I've seen are related to graphics. What do you think the best story line[d] FF is? What makes it so? Discuss.

Personally - FF3/6 [amer] is my fav. Each character had their own little place and backround in the story, none really drawn out and boring. Kefka is a bad ass villian that set a high bar ranking for bosses. I don't think any other boss is that much rememberable other than Sephiroth.

(Spoilers)

Personally i really liked 8s storyline. I believe 7 is an overall better game but I liked the plot of 8 better. The characters were more "human" than in really any other FF at that time. I thought the history of the sorceress was cool and how the main villain wasn't the original sorceress that you saw at the beginning but someone from a different time. Character development was good although they did make Squall quite a bit of a douchebag there for a while. The Gunblade as a weapon was very cool to me and the idea of SEED being mercenaries filled out the story nicely.

I really like 9 story because mostly the characters made the story go along very nice, how the characters branch off and take their own paths but in the end they fight for one thing.

Also - the introduction to the card game is awesome. And are you talking about Edea when you say "the sorceress"?

Yes. How Edea is introduced as the main evil character but then you discover that the "really bad" sorceress is just controlling her. I thought Edea was one of the coolest characters ever too bad you can't keep her.
The card game is tops over all mini games. Idk why people like 9s better I thought 8s was perfect.

I thought 8's card game was the best as well. I don't understand why 9 didn't follow the same pattern. 9's was crap and more confusing. IMO. They tried to take something already cool and take a new direction to it.... it didn't work to well.

I only played a minimum amount of the series. About 4 games. Out of all of them..FF7 has the best storyline. (I played 7/10/10-2/12). It had a solid story that it grew on with a few nice twists. FFX was all about sin, 12 is all about nethicite and the empire, 10-2 is all about..stupid. Seven seemed to be the only one that kept it interesting all the way through. I think FFX had a better overdrive thing. Limit breakers were good but if you can't choose when you want to use them I think thats dumb.

Lol, same thought i had about the game. It seemed everyone was the main char cause they all had their story and i guess that's what made it cool. My fav. char was Sabin <.<
