So... it's been a while since I played any final fantasy game (I think like when 12 came out).

My roommate just told me that a "new mmo" just came out. Once I started reading about it, it said it is a relaunch?

Am I missing anything if I get this game and didn't play the original? Also, dunno how long this game has been out so far? (A day, a week, something like that?). Anyone who has played the relaunch, is it fun so far?

it just came out today actually, the original had leveling caps and problems they revamped

totally worth the price

edit: plus a monthly fee like most mmos

The original was awful, a realm reborn is amazing.

You don't need to have played the original, as most of the population didn't.

I have been reading about the classes. It seems at level 30 (and level 15) you can become a new class. I got a question about that. Is there any benefit to just staying the level 30 class? I.e. is it okay to just stay an archer instead of becoming a bard? Or should you upgrade?

up there with WoW imo.
early access release right now so there's a boatload of bugs and server issues (maint alot)

From my understanding, the level 30 jobs are more like a subclass (bard for example) granting it's main class (archer) additional skills. So by becoming a bard, you're still really an archer, but you get to play songs.

I'm level 12 right now and all i can say is:

- Its repeating too much.. the same quests all the time, no difference at all, boring.
- Level 12 and the combat system sucks
- Graphics are great
- Emotes are great
- Physics are great

The quests suck, as in every other MMO game.
If you can live with that, buy it.

i guess when you were lvl 5 in d2, you thought that was the end of the game too huh? lol

edit, i felt the same way too in beta but i only got level 7. by the time you get choco/nice geared lvl 20ish/doing dungeons/doing the main story Q and etc you will take pride in the character and enjoy the game.
