Anyone else think this is stupid as all hell? Especially considering you did not even need to purchase the game in order to get into the phase 4 beta. People will have edges on the markets as well as increased funding. Names will be taken by people who may not have the game or any intention of getting the game.

What do you guys think?

fine with it, anyone had access to play phase 4 if you didnt that was your own issue.

With limited server capacities as well as the 3402 error which ravaged a good portion of players ability to play.

Any arguments about not being able to play during beta are pointless.

There are no guarantees. Get over it.

It's a stress test so that they can make guarantees (you would hope) for release.

Unfortunately, early access is the true stress test for release...so they will have a smooth release, but I wouldn't expect a perfectly smooth early access start.

If anyone cares about names and didn't play the beta, then they're an idiot in the first place and no one really cares. Beta phase 4 was, if nothing else, an introduction to the game after you reserved the name(s) that you wanted. Everyone had access to it if they wanted it, other than the two major errors, but those errors don't prevent you from getting a name.

They stated that they wouldn't wipe well before the beta, reserving only the right to wipe if something catastrophic occurred (i.e. duping/exploiting). Therefore, the fact that they didn't wipe is to be expected being as no major exploits were exposed during beta.

People will not have edges on the market at all. Max level was level 20 in phase 4. You can get level 20 mining in like 8 hours if you really wanted to. So they are 8 hours ahead of you. The people in early access are the ones who will be ahead of people. Most people probably have early access though, so it seems fair.

who knew playing beta would be a headstart?

Everyone. They stated it outright at least a few days before open beta opened.

What about the players from version 1.0 that will have their characters and gear?

they go on their own legacy server



after a very long amount of time that server will be unlocked and the characters can transfer out (like months apparently)
