Ugh.... I did. I tried this twice, both times the game seemed to be working great and both times the game freezes near the end of the second disc. Was beyond frustrating, not dealing with that kind of shit for 7 anymore.

Nothing, that scene's notorious for causing freezes in both ePSX and PSX emulators.

What I ended up having to do was very, very meticulously pause the scene, swap back in disc 1, let the scene play out for a few more seconds, then swap back in disc 2. It took me over an hour to get it right but as long as you get a Save State in seconds before the freeze, you can sort of feel it out. There are a lot of FAQ/forum posts about it, it's just trial and error.

So fucked up lol. Well I'm happy to have a legit copy, I sat there for ever fucking with it and couldn't figure it out. Doing some research online might have been a good idea

Yeah some people despise emulators as it is and when they start having issues like that it's like "AW FUCK THIS SHIT!" but I was about 40 hours deep when that scene froze so I spent quite some time trying to find a solution. Good thing is now you have a copy that you can 1) modify with various game packs if you feel like it and 2) won't have to deal with game crashes.
