I got the pre-order collectors edition but quit a month after release. When you figure a server, I will most likely start a new char up and join up.
Only question I have is: is crafting/repairing still hard/ annoying?

repairing is extremely easy now, you can get everything repaired from vendors in towns, and near aetherytes. crafting is still sort of the same, although they are going to be doing a lot of fixing in 1.21

but like i said, il be posting when we decide on the world we're getting merged into. atm we're on cornelia.

they're adding private player residences : http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/37514, scheduled for 1.21 release patch.

"With Patch 1.21, players will be able to access inn rooms, private areas for their own use, after completing certain quests."

With this, they're also adding 'rested exp bonus'

"Rested bonus (provisional name)
When player characters enter an inn, they go into “resting mode,” accumulating a rested bonus as time passes. Even after players have logged out, the rested bonus will continue to accumulate up to a maximum limit.

The accumulated bonus is visible on the EXP bar.

When characters have accumulated sufficient rested bonus, they receive a boost to experience points received. The accumulated bonus decreases in proportion to the experience point bonus granted, and when it reaches zero the effect ceases.
* When playing with a level 50 class, the rested bonus does not decrease.
* The bonus does not apply to experience points received as part of quest rewards or for completing levequests."

So if you have an inactive account does it just get randomly moved to a server?

I have like 110M gil and multiple level 50s but I haven't played for months and cancelled the account when it went to subscription finally.

Wasn't planning on renewing for a while, but don't want my account to get deleted with the merge if it's inactive :x

believe it selects a server for you automatically. thats what the previous patch information said, but they removed the patch info. most likely you will be put on a server similar to what you previously were on, or i would think. but feel free to select cornelia (or whatever named server my linkshell decides to go to) in march!

i could even take some of that gil off your hands

also just a reminder, its 10$/month, not 15$ like most other MMOs
