You'll have no problem beating it before the 25th. I think I poured about 70 hours into it and didn't miss a thing. The only obstacle that would get in your way is maxing out every single available character, and who wants to do that?
Hmm Im tempted to max everything haha.

I loved FFVI, it has one of my favourite character casts in the FF universe. It get's a bit too easy as you progress though... you should give it another try, hopefully you'll make it to the end this time.
I personally dropped I and II, but I'm planing on tackling them some time soon... I'll probably do all 3 NES ones this summer (haven't played III)
I also dropped FF XII, around the time you get to the sewers not far from the begining. I didn't like it, I wanted a classic RPG but Squenix just changed it all too much

Yea I dont remember anyone saying anything bad about FF6. Its always a recommended play.
FF1 is pretty basic but fun. I've played both the emulated NES version and the GBA version. I didnt care for FF2 though. If you like the job system (like FF5) then you'll like FF3.
I know what you mean with FF12. I played the demo and HATED the demo but I went against my instincts and bought it when it came out and once I got into the game pretty good (about 15-20 hours in) it gets a lot better. The battle system took a lot of shit from people but it was as interactive as YOU wanted it to be. You could set it up to just auto battle but I was a bit more active with mine.

Oh don't worry I saw it when my brother played. I just missed it on my own save that's all

Oh ok good haha. One of the best scenes in the game
