Started playing Final Fantasy VI, not long into it my Brady Games guide suggests I tape down my 'X' and 'Up' directional button and power-level as I sleep through the night.

FFVI is easy enough to beat without having to this kinda stuff...

Of course I didn't grab my Scotch tape and call it a night. Good game though. I couldn't stomach completing FF XIII.

yup, VI is one of the best FFs

Never played XIII the trauma SquareEnix caused me with XII has stopped me from playing the new FFs... I'm not much into RPGs that don't follow the classic turnbased battle system

For the most part I feel the same way. Final Fantasy was something I got into when I was about 10 years old, and these newer releases just don't give me that burst of nostalgia like the older ones do. I'm doing things backwards but the goal is to tackle all of them, from VI to the very first one.

It's been years, and I forget where FF3 fits in? You have Origins, Chronicles, Anthologies, then 7.

as far as I know, 3 was never re-released in either of those collections, and the NES version is only in japanese, that's why it's the only one of the first 10 I haven't played

I think they made a version for either GBA or DS later, I'm going to try to get a copy of that soon so i can finally play it

3 Was never released outside of Japan until it was remade for DS in 06. So 6 was orignally known as 3 until it was rereleased on PS1.

Thanks for clarifying. I'll probably purchase Legend of Dragoon and play that before I invest in a DS

get legends of dragoon, it was an amazing game. i must have beat it at least 5-6 times now

On topic, FF6 IS the best FF in the series IMO. Everything is captivating about it, especially Shadow.. Oh damn you better not miss him!
And don't bother botting or cheating or anything, play through the game as it's meant to be played.
