So I'm fighting Barthandelus at the end of Chapter 11. He's not supposed to cast doom until he's around 500,000 Hp. For me He casts it at 1,300,000 HP Leaving me no possibly way to beat him. I tried to switch to odin in a last effort to halt the doom counter but no dice. Such a long ass fight and I don't want to have to do it again =/. Balls....

he casts it after a certain time, you were taking way too long to beat him

be more aggressive next time and he wont cast doom at all

Yeah i just failed a second time, He cast it around 1 Million Hp. I dont see how i can be more agressive unless i take out my sentenel and that is a sure fire way to die.

dont leave a sentinel in 100% of the time... most of the time you should be running com/rav/rav, then rav/rav/rav to build the stagger gauge asap, once you break him switch to whatever people are strongest at

toss a pair of shrouds at the beginning of the fight if youre really having a problem

and when needed switch to rav/med/med to heal up for the next wave of attacks


you really should only use sentinels in certain battles and this i dont believe was one of them

Yeah I just realized I had shrouds I can use. I haven't even used one all game haha. The guide says i should be switching between Delta attack and Mystic tower, But I'm trying a whole different set up using Vanille over hope.


EDIT: Yeah I managed to beat him. My vanille Currently has Curasa and curaja so that helped a lot. I pretty much spent the entire fight switching in between Relentless assault and Tireless Charge. Only got 3 stars but keep in mind ive done ZERO upgrading at all.

you really dont need to upgrade until you start to do the missions

Have a SAB and SYN with Evened Odds. Hack, stagger, repeat, dead.

I didn't even know he COULD cast doom.

Yeah all three versions of him do if you take more than 20 minutes. He didn't even cast it on my 3rd try.

alot of bosses in the later part of the game will cast doom if you take too long
