well ofc thats tradition, same tradition as cactuar, chocobo, and tonberry but omega weapon the boss is tradition too :(

Carbuncle is a Cocoon Fal'Cie in Palumpolum. Can't think of any other names so far, not that far yet. :)

Most Fal'Cie are traditional names from previous FF series.
Anima is the first Fal'cie you kill after seeing Serah's death. ( I think it's Anima, I'm pretty sure. )
Most bosses in FF13 reanimate the names of traditional monsters you see in the FF series. This time, they are more likely to be your enemy than ones to assist you.
